Mena Alexandra Suvari (born February 13 1979) is an American actress fashion designer and model. Her career in modeling began in 1990 and soon moved to acting following appearances in television shows like Boy Meets World or High Incident. Her film debut came in 1997's documentary Nowhere. The actress made her way to major roles with her performances as a character in American Beauty for which she was nominated for an BAFTA Award and American Pie both of which earned an international audience. In 2000, she starred with her American Pie co star Jason Biggs. Then, she played the leading role on the film Sugar & Spice (2002). Spun, a 2002 independent drama film, as well as Trauma (2004) thrillers were also included in her resume. She also appeared in HBO's series Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award in 2005, as part of the Outstanding Ensemble. Also, she was cast in Days of the Dead, The Mysteries of Pittsburg, and the movie version of The Garden of Eden.
