Julia Fiona Roberts, born on October 28, 1967, at Atlanta to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is the fourth Roberts generation living in Atlanta, beginning with her great-grandfather who was a farmer John Pendleton Roberts. Early in his life the father of her mother became obsessed by theater. He was a part of at the Emory University campus in 1952 and in other productions that were staged around Atlanta. Following his air force service and appearing in an air force production in Biloxi with Betty Lou Bredemus. The two married in 1955, and their first son Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter was studying at Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In the year 1957, they quit the Air Force and Walter began his studies at Tulane. In 1960, the family relocated into Decatur Georgia where Walter began working at Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1964, Walter along with Betty Lou began production on a local children's Saturday morning television show named Bum Bum and His Buddies which they financed themselves. In the following year, they established the Actors and Writers Workshop which operated for six years. They also had Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) and Julia (also known as Julie) during this period.
